  12. <<HOW TO INSTALL THEMES>>
  13. 1) Uninstall the zip(with WinZip) file into a subdirectory of your themes directory.
  14.    For Examples: C:\Program Files\Plus!\Themes\
  15. 2) If there is *.ttf file, Move the *.ttf font files to your Windows\font directory.
  16. 3) Click on the Start menu.
  17. 4) Click on "Settings".
  18. 5) Click on "Control Panel".
  19. 6) Double click on the "Desktop Themes" icon.
  20.    (If you do not have this icon, you may not have Plus! installed.
  21.    You Should read "To Install Theme" on main page of TopThemes.com site.)
  22. 7) When you enter the theme window, there will be a highlighted
  23.    drop-down list. Click on it and then choose that theme among the list.
  24.    (If you can't find that theme, click on "other".  Browse to the directory
  25.    you just installed your themes in.)
  26.    Click on the theme that you have just installed.
  27.    You will be able to preview the theme.
  28. 8) Click on "Apply" or "Ok" and the theme will then be started.
  29. 9) You can also preview or load a theme by double-clicking on the theme file.

  33. <<THEME INSTALLATION PROBLEMS>>
  34. If you are having problems installing a theme, the following could
  35. be one of your problems:
  36.  
  37. 1) You don't have Microsoft Plus installed.
  38. 2) You are not unzipping with a 32 bit decompression program that 
  39.    supports long file names.

  43. <<TROUBLESHOOTING>>
  44. If you have installed the theme correctly, but it doesn't seem
  45. to work properly, then your problems could be:
  46.  
  47. 1) Your Windows directory is not C:\Windows\
  48. 2) Your Theme directory is not C:\Program Files\Plus!\Themes\
  49. 3) Some files may be corrupt (especially if downloaded off the
  50.    internet.
  51. 4) If you are having problem viewing the wallpaper, install the theme
  52.    by double clicking on the theme file itself in the subdirectory 
  53.    rather than installing through the control panel. This seems to 
  54.    solve the problem of non-standard directory installations.

  58. <<STARTUP AND SHUTDOWN SCREENS>>
  59. 1)If theme includes startup and shutdown screens.

  61. logo.sys  (startup screen, usually located in c:\)
  62. logow.sys  (waiting for shutdown, usually located in c:\windows)
  63. logos.sys  (shutdown complete,  usually located in c:\windows)
  64.  
  65. To install the startup and shutdown screens, move the existing files of the same
  66. name to a safe place.  Place the files in the directories where you found the
  67. original files.
